The choice of a Midline catheter must take several parameters into account, from the characteristics of the patient’s venous access to the expected duration of treatment, as well as flow requirements and the most appropriate configuration for the procedure.
Within the Numantec Group portfolio, Delta Midline and Midline Health Line offer different features, sizes and configurations, enabling healthcare professionals to identify the solution that best meets the clinical and procedural needs of each individual patient.
Delta Midline: A 25 cm Power Injectable Catheter
Delta Midline is a single-lumen peripheral venous catheter made of multilayer polyurethane. It is cylindrical, graduated and radiopaque. It has a length of 25 cm and is available in 3, 4 and 5 Fr sizes. The possibility of distal trimming also allows its length to be adapted to the requirements of the insertion procedure.
One of the key technical features of the device is its compatibility with power injection. All three configurations have a stated maximum pressure resistance of 325 PSI, with a power injection flow rate of 3 ml/sec for the 3 Fr version and 5 ml/sec for the 4 and 5 Fr versions.
Delta Midline also features an open tip and includes components dedicated to the insertion procedure. Depending on the configuration selected, the kit may include an echogenic introducer needle, a 0.018″ nitinol guidewire, a tear-away introducer, a needle-free connector and other components intended for device insertion and management. The Advanced version also includes a sutureless securement system and a transparent dressing.
Midline Health Line: More Sizes for Different Insertion Needs
The Health Line range, from the US company that became part of the Numantec Group in 2025, further expands the portfolio dedicated to long vascular access catheters.
The Health Line CT Midline Catheter is designed to provide short-term peripheral access to the venous system for a period of less than 30 days and is indicated for the administration of intravenous therapies, medicines and blood products. The device helps meet the patient’s infusion therapy needs through a single venipuncture, reducing the need for repeated needle sticks and helping improve patient comfort during treatment.
Made of polyurethane, the catheter offers a good balance between radiopacity, strength and durability, while maintaining the necessary flexibility. The catheter is 20 cm long and can be distally trimmed, allowing its length to be adapted to the requirements of the procedure.
The Health Line CT Midline Catheter is available in a single-lumen configuration, in 3, 4 and 5 Fr sizes, and in a double-lumen configuration, in 4 and 5 Fr sizes.
Mini-Midline Health Line: The Shorter Solution
The available solutions include ProV Midline ST, a Mini-Midline designed as an intermediate device between a short PIVC and a traditional Midline, intended for peripheral venous access for less than 30 days.
One of the distinctive features of the range is the availability of different sizes. ProV Midline ST is offered, among other configurations, in 3 and 4 Fr sizes and in lengths of 6, 8 and 10 cm, allowing the device to be selected also in relation to vessel size and patient characteristics.
The catheter also features an atraumatic “V” tip, designed to facilitate the transition from the guidewire to the vessel, and can be inserted using the Seldinger over-the-wire technique. Markings and identification elements on the device allow the Midline and its power injectability characteristics to be recognised.
Different Configurations for a More Targeted Choice
Delta Midline and Midline Health Line share the aim of providing more stable peripheral access than short peripheral catheters, while offering features designed to meet different needs.
The wide range of available configurations gives the operator greater choice, making it possible to identify the solution best suited to the patient’s specific needs and to the characteristics of the therapy to be administered. Selection should therefore start from an assessment of the vessel, the expected duration of treatment, the characteristics of the infusions and the procedural requirements, identifying not only the most appropriate size and length, but also the most appropriate type of device.
Delta Midline and Midline Health Line from the Numantec Group
With Delta Midline and the Midline Health Line range, the Numantec Group expands the options available to healthcare professionals for the management of peripheral venous access.
The integration of devices with different lengths, sizes and construction characteristics makes it possible to address different clinical situations through a more targeted catheter choice, offering solutions ranging from Mini-Midlines to 25 cm Midlines and their related procedural configurations.
